How Searching Works
Searching in QuikData is not limited to keyword searching alone. While keyword searching plays a central role, searches can also be built using metadata fields, system fields, and other available conditions.
QuikData searches may be based on:
- Keyword or full-text conditions
- Metadata fields (e.g., custodian, date fields, file properties)
- System-generated fields
- Combinations of keyword and field-based conditions
- Other available filters exposed through search tools
All search entry points use the same search engine and apply the same rules when evaluating search conditions. This means that Quick Search, Advanced Search, and Search Manager are not separate systems — they are simply different ways to start a search using the same underlying logic.
For detailed information on available fields and filters used in structured searches, see Building Search Conditions & Filters.
Search Starting Points
